In the Footsteps of the Old Masters: A Classical Painting Summer Workshop
Join Ken Goshen for a five-day summer workshop at Goshen Art Academy in Manhattan. Draw inspiration from historical masterpieces at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and apply these techniques to your own paintings, created from direct observation of live models. Designed for all experience levels, this workshop will inspire, challenge, and enhance your artistic skills in an immersive and supportive environment.
Workshop Details
Location: Goshen Art Academy - 1026 6th Ave, #303, Manhattan, NYC. (First day: Tour at the Metropolitan Museum of Art)
Dates: August 4th - August 8th. Monday to Friday 10am to 5pm. (daily lunch break 1pm to 2pm)
Spots: Limited to 10 students.
Materials: All materials are provided with the exception of brushes. Bring your favorite brushes with you to NY! If you’d like to purchase new brushes, Ken will be happy to provide recommendations via email to all registered students.
Tuition: $1,099 ($350.00 deposit upon enrollment) Includes Materials (except brushes) and Metropolitan Museum of Art admission ticket.

Day 1: Met Museum Tour & Charcoal Sketching
Day 2: Proportions & Linear Drawings
Day 3: Underpainting Techniques
Day 4: Color Theory & Color Mixing
Day 5: Final Painting & Celebratory Critique
